Host, graphic designer, and creator of space is Kelly Pasholk. That’s me.
The inspiration for the services I offer springs from my background in graphic arts, and most recently from hosting sustainable building workshops while building my home, Miracolo (Italian for miracle and pronounced Me rah´ coe low). The adventure had me realize how much I enjoy supporting people as they do their work, learn, and expand who they are.
An introvert by nature, it’s easy for me to stay in the background while helping others shine. This is important when assisting other creatives — especially those who need quiet time to focus.
Since the mid ’80s, I’ve been in the field of graphic arts. My education ranged from art and communication classes to operating printing presses. My first professional job was with a small and successful printing company in North Central Wisconsin where I was designer, typesetter, camera operator, and pasteup artist. I learned by doing, getting involved in all aspects of the full-service print shop including finishing work and customer service. Most importantly, I learned business etiquette. I was lucky to start off with a company where I respected the owners’ integrity and business savvy.
My career moved to Chicago in 1993, where I worked for Fortune 500 companies in advertising, management, and technology, leading me to start my own graphic design business. Still serving Fortune 500s, I worked steadily yet enjoyed more freedom to pursue my other interests. Exploration and training in art, spirituality, Reiki, flower essences, animal communication, and sound healing have helped form who I am today and the services I now offer.
I continue to stay curious, learn, and expand.
City life was replaced by life on the mesas of Taos, New Mexico, in 2005. This is where I became the go-to book designer. In 2016, I bought land and soon after began the process of building a solar-powered home. I wanted to walk my talk and leave as light a footprint as I could both in building and in living.
